5 Steps Toward Finding Your Truest Self

  1. Identify something that you would love to do if money was inconsequential. If money was no object, where would you be? What would you be doing? Who would you be with?
  2. Think about what you liked doing when you were a child, before anyone else had an opinion about it. How did you play? What did you create? Where did you spend your time and energy?
  3. Think about things that you love doing and can do right now. Things that don't involve any kind of preparation. What have you included in your daily routine, in your regular life, that speaks to who you are at the very center?
  4. Imagine that you don't have any obligations. After you rest and recharge from burn out or over extension, what would your life look like?
  5. What is something you would do that doesn't make sense to others? If there was no such thing as judgement or external validation, what bold choices would you make?

There are many ways to re-connect with our truest selves. These are 5 to get started with. Spend some time with each question. Sit in a quiet space, journal, draw, knit, tinker, paint, think. Do whatever helps get your brain waves flowing. Then allow yourself to play inside of each question, dreaming and exploring. That light, easy, playful energy is where you will find the answers you are looking for.
